Minister Cummings Tours The Moruga NESC Campus

Youth Development and National Service Minister, the Honourable Foster Cummings, visited the former National Energy Skills Centre (NESC) Moruga Campus, on Saturday, July 17, to explore the possibility of establishing a skills training facility for the residents of Moruga and environs.

Minister Cummings, accompanied by a team from the Ministry of Youth Development and National Service (MYDNS), including Permanent Secretary – Farook Hosein, Youth Officer III – Sean Ramrattan and Assistant Project Coordinator – Lyndon Burton, met with MIC Institute of Technology (MIC-IT) Chief Executive Officer – Anil Ramnarine, Assistant General Manager, Training Division – Nathan Langaigne and Principal of the Moruga Secondary School Michael Sutherland.

During the visit, the team assessed the existing facilities, which previously offered technical and vocational training, in an effort to establish a Memorandum of Understanding between the MYDNS and the MIC-IT, for the expansion and modernization of the Campus.

The Ministry of Youth Development and National Service remains committed to bringing all stakeholders, including institutions such as the MIC Institute of Technology that contribute significantly to the development of our citizens, in particular, the youth of Trinidad and Tobago.
