Minister Cummings Tours Caribbean Industrial Research Institute (CARIRI)

Youth Development and National Service Minister, The Honourable Foster Cummings, accompanied byPermanent Secretary Mr Farook Hosein, and Advisor to the Minister Gail Sooknarine toured the Caribbean Industrial Research Institute (CARIRI) Centre for Enterprise Development to explore opportunities for training and development of the Youth.

CARIRI’s Human Resource Manager Denise Ferguson, who led the tour presented, a comprehensive view of the operations at the facility including Food Safety, Food Processing and Preservation techniques, as well as Goods Manufacturing. Also in attendance were CARIRI’s Business Development Officer Karen Sukha and Lab Manager Miguel Andrews.

Minister Cummings expressed his pleasure with the state of the art facility and looks forward to partnering with CARIRI, in keeping with the Ministry’s mandate for Youth Development. The Ministry of Youth Development and National Service remains committed to bringing all stakeholders together to promote youth development and encouraging civic-minded citizens to contribute to National Service across Trinidad and Tobago.
