Minister of Youth Development and National Service, the Honourable Foster Cummings, together with Permanent Secretary Farook Hosein, met with the Chief Executive Officer of the National Enterprise Development Company (NEDCO) – Mr. Calvin Maurice, along with Mr. Makesi Alexander – Sector Specialist, Enterprise Development Division, on Wednesday 05 May, 2021, at the Ministry’s office, Elizabeth Street, St. Clair.
Minister Cummings acknowledged NEDCO’s improvement in services to cater for the Micro and Small Enterprises, particularly those adversely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and commended them for their proactive approach to providing a safety-net for small business owners.
The Minister noted that, as an agency of the Ministry, NEDCO can contribute significantly to the achievement of the Ministry’s mandate, particularly as it relates to the economic empowerment of our youth and their inclusion as co-creators in our national development. The Ministry of Youth Development and National Service remains committed to bringing all stakeholders together to promote youth development and encouraging civic-minded citizens to contribute to National Service across Trinidad and Tobago.
