Minister Cummings Meets Cooperative Credit Union League

Youth Development and National Service Minister, the Honourable Foster Cummings, along with Permanent Secretary Farook Hosein, Deputy Permanent Secretary Marcia London-McKellar, and Cooperative Development Specialist David Moe, met with President of the Cooperative Credit Union League Joseph Remy, Chief Executive Officer Dianne Joseph and Treasurer Michael Hernandez, to discuss the challenges and solutions with respect to the Credit Union Sector.

During the virtual meeting, Minister Cummings was appraised of the challenges facing the Credit Union Movement, but was also reminded of the principles that guide their operations and the values that underpin their processes, which facilitate the growth and development of the Sector.

Following the discussions, Minister Cummings, aware of the significance of Credit Unions in our society, agreed to work with the Cooperative Credit Union League to address their concerns, noting that he would continue to promote the enhancement of the environment in which Credit Unions operate, that would enable them to flourish.

The Ministry of Youth Development and National Service remains committed to supporting the effective and efficient operations of organizations such as the Cooperative Credit Union League that contribute significantly to the development of Trinidad and Tobago.
