The Ministry of Youth Development and National Service (MYDNS), was established in August, 2020, with the primary focus to advance the youth development agenda and to promote national service.
Our foremost objective, is to be a dynamic, customer-oriented and policy driven organisation that brings all stakeholders together to promote youth development, and encourages civic-minded citizens to contribute to national service across Trinidad and Tobago.
Our youth are vital to the future development of Trinidad and Tobago. They must be nurtured, listened to, protected and encouraged, given proper guidance and easy access to education, personal development, health care and meaningful employment. They must be supported and provided with the means to grow and develop and there must be a forum for their voices to be heard and their ideas, plans and programmes incorporated into national policy. They must also be given opportunities to participate in Government and the public and private sectors at the highest levels.

The Ministry of Youth Development and National Service, with over a dozen Agencies, Divisions and Statutory Boards under its remit, remains steadfast in its thrust to work collectively and cohesively with all stakeholders, to realise our unifying objective and to best serve all citizens of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, particularly the youth.
National Pride:
The Ministry of Youth Development and National Service (MYDNS) is focused on developing civic-minded citizens, driven by an enthusiasm for national service, through a dynamic, customer oriented, policy driven organization that brings all stakeholder together for a better quality of life and nation pride.
Each citizen will have an opportunity to utilize our e-platform to register as a volunteer in any area of service, based on skills and resources, to provide guidance for the professional or social growth of our nation’s youths; or as mentors to offer emotional support and instill positive values to up-lift the vulnerable.

Wealth Creation:
The MYDNS is also mandated to nurture the Nation’s youth into leading creative and productive lifestyle through the incubation and development of culture for entrepreneurship. By strengthening the indigenous financial sectors including the Cooperatives and Financial Societies, the Ministry will encourage the growth of small, medium and micro enterprises as attainable options for wealth creation.
