Youth Minister Receives Visit From Beauty Contestants of Miss Sari Trinidad and Tobago

Port of Spain, October 11, 2024 – The Honourable Foster Cummings, Minister of Youth Development and National Service (MYDNS) received, a courtesy call today, from contestants in the Miss Sari Trinidad and Tobago Talent and Beauty Pageant Competition. The pageant, geared towards ‘Empowering our young women through pageantry with pride and dignity’, is in its second year and highlight the talents of young women and their potentials as role models, as they represent their communities across the country.

Minister Cummings expressed his gratitude for their presence and the positive light they shine as exemplars for young women in their communities. Encouraging the beauty contestants, the Youth Minister stated, “Do your best in all that your undertakings for our culture. Our culture is our riches and through you it is passed on to the future generations, so continue to do your best.”

Among the contestants, they possess a variety of skills, that include Gardening; Disc Jockey; and Arts and Culture. The Pageant Producer, Mr. Mahindra Rampersad and Executive Producer, Ms. Erica Caton, shared that the criteria for entry into the competition has been expanded and is now branded all-inclusive, allowing for the opportunity of true representation of our young Trinbagonian woman. They noted that the Pageant goes beyond fashion and modelling, as it involves a Self-development and Life-skills Programme.

The Ministry of Youth Development and National Service remains committed to bringing all stakeholders together to promote youth development and encourages civic-minded citizens to contribute to National Service across Trinidad and Tobago.
