Minister Cummings addresses 727 CCC Graduates

The Honourable Foster Cummings, Minister of Youth Development and National Service, extended hearty congratulations as he addressed the 727 graduates of the CCC Programme at a Graduation Ceremony, today, at the NESC Compound, Couva.

CCC offers young persons ages 16-25 years, technical/vocational skills training, life skills enhancement and sport development. The programme seeks to: nurture trainees; raise the self-esteem of young people with high needs; encourage socially desirable behaviours; train and develop unemployed youth to prepare them for employment; and inculcate a sense of environmental awareness and national pride.

Minister Cummings during his address emphasized that, “young people are indeed the greatest asset we have.” He also expressed that the CCC Programme offers “significant intervention in the lives of the young people of Trinidad and Tobago.”

Programme Director of the Civilian Conservation Corps, Major David Benjamin shared that the Programme has “played a role in the lives of 29,721 nationals.” He added that “thirteen top performing graduands of Cycle 2201 were granted scholarships by training institutions to undertake further advanced training in various skill areas.”

The Ministry of Youth Development and National Service remains committed to bringing all stakeholders together to provide programmes and services that cater to the personal and professional needs of our youth.
